Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas Pragmatic Play slot review with free demo

Another visually beautiful slot from Pragmatic. And a continuation of other slots in this series. Here, the girl also dishes out multipliers like the grandpa from Olympus.

Let’s start with the design. The symbols are well-drawn, the colors are bright. The theme is Christmas-style. The music is also nice, calm, and most importantly, not intrusive. The game doesn’t freeze or lag.

As for the gameplay, it’s all clear, just spin and catch the scatters. There are fancy features, but I don’t use them. Too expensive, and honestly pointless) You can get more from a spin sometimes than what the bonus game might give.

There’s also a closed field that opens up after collecting combinations.
For the bonus, you need four scatters. It’s easier for me to buy it than to catch it. More often than not, it doesn’t pay off. In the bonus game itself, there’s a retrigger, for that you need 3 scatters and you’ll get an additional 5 spins. The max here is 10,000x. But I don’t think I’ll ever hit that. My max wins here are x50-x100.

Overall, the slot is 50/50, in my opinion. You can spin it when everything else gets boring. But I wouldn’t count on big wins.

Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas

Christmas version of Wisdom of Athena 1000. They added the ability to buy a super bonus for x500 and a super spin with the top row fully open for x10. A high-volatility slot with an average max win of x10000 by today’s standards. It keeps the balance okay, probably not suitable for wagering turnover, but you can usually stick around for a hundred or so spins. The main game is the same as in the default thousand version – it eats a lot, but doesn’t forget to throw in some “ammo,” catching the bonus is tough (300-400+ spins without a bonus). The extra chance is useless, and the feature with opening cells isn’t worth your money either, I wouldn’t recommend it. The slot can give a four-digit win in both the main and bonus games thanks to the random multiplier up to x1000, but in all my time playing, I only hit x500 in the main game of the regular thousand Athena once. I don’t see the point in the cell-opening mechanic; sure, it sometimes throws in the needed symbol, but that’s kind of weak. The super bonus also isn’t worth the money; paying x500 for essentially a regular bonus with an open top row is nonsense, since the main thing is the multipliers and hits, and the extra row only slightly increases the chance of a hit. Overall, the slot is mediocre; you can drop in sometimes, especially during the winter season, but in other cases, it rarely gets a turn.
